The Press as the vanguard of internationalism

All industries have obligations to adhere to social values of their host communities. One of the main reasons why I disagree so strongly with the concept of " internationalism " is that it fails to recognise this. In practice, it is a front for something that most people used to hold in deep suspicion - "multinationals ". Invent a new term and the whole approach now sounds positively altruistic. Indeed, with the loss of labels such as communism and capitalism, some feel the need for a new flag. It will prove as dangerous as the old, unless it really stands for something human. This is precisely what many industries, and particularly the press, fail to stand up for. Every restraint of human morality or compassion is worn away by the subtle relentless pressure of making profit. Of course, this pressure to seek the holy dollar regardless of social consequences is not restricted to the "fame industry ".
